- Certified Legal Nurse Consultant
These experiences have helped propel her success as Executive Director of a hospitality group and Clinical Case Manager for one of the largest national hotel/casinos within the corporation’s benefits department. She served as the main liaison between employees and the insurance company to ensure better health outcomes while meeting the corporation’s benefit goals.
As a certified Legal Nurse Consultant, she has testified and advocated for patients and the legal industry.
Her extensive medical knowledge and experience has allowed her to serve patients’ medical needs from hospital to home, assist in and create medical treatment protocols, resolve prior authorization delays and negotiate medical bills. In addition, her successful career includes writing the bariatric benefit for the hotel/casino’s self-funded health plan and the development/implementation of the first transgender medical protocol in Nevada.

Camelia Scott’s experience ranges from the medical industry to the health insurance fields. Starting her career in insurance with a life insurance company, Camelia extended her healthcare knowledge as:
- Professional Relationship Manager and Marketing Director for an addiction/behavioral healthcare hospital
- Manager of Market Research & Product Development for the largest HMO and insurance company in Nevada
- Healthcare Consultant for firms specializing in self-funded and union/trust clients as well as insurer carriers
- Account/Service Representative for a health insurance brokerage firm
- Managing Member of her own health insurance brokerage firm
This wide range of healthcare experience provides her with the knowledge of navigating the healthcare industry and delivering that knowledge to healthcare consumers.
While working for the largest insurance company in Nevada, Camelia developed health plans with her team of analysts, worked with actuaries, assisted in creating/writing certificates of coverage (contracts), provided benefit interpretations for the claims, pharmacy and member services departments and trained sales on product lines.
As a healthcare consultant, she has negotiated medical bills, assisted in summary plan descriptions, developed insurance plans for other carriers and compared insurance medical payments to providers for competitive purposes.
She currently uses this knowledge to educate and advocate for her clients.
Camelia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Ryerson University. She is a licensed life/health agent in Nevada and Arizona, and holds a professional designation from the Academy of Healthcare Management (PAHM).
